PDF Reader & Editor – Scanner
Last Updated: September 14, 2026Welcome to PDF Reader & Editor – Scanner. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, processed, and shared when you use our application.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your information while providing PDF reading, editing, scanning, document management, and related features.
Depending on how you use the application and which features are enabled, the application and integrated third-party services may process certain information.
| Category | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Device Information | Device model, operating system, OS version, language, app version and build information | App functionality, diagnostics, analytics and compatibility |
| Usage Information | App interactions, feature usage and events | Analytics, performance improvement and product improvement |
| Advertising Information | Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID) and information used for advertising and measurement, where applicable | Advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and related services |
| Crash Information | Crash reports, diagnostics and technical information | Identifying and fixing application problems |
The application may request access to files or documents on your device so that you can open, view, edit, scan, convert, organize, save, export or share them.
Files are accessed when you explicitly select or provide them to the application and are processed locally where applicable.
The application may also include barcode or QR code scanning functionality powered by Google Play services. Scanned data is processed on your device and is not sent to us.
However, if you intentionally use a feature that sends information to a third-party service, that service's privacy policy may also apply.
The application requests the following device permissions to provide its core document, scanning and notification features. You can review or revoke most of these at any time in your Android device settings.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (used only on Android 9
and earlier, up to API level 29) and
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE ("All files access")
allow the application to browse, open, edit, save and
organize documents stored anywhere on your device, including
outside the app-specific folder. This broader access is
requested because the application functions as a general
document/PDF manager rather than one limited to a single
folder. It is used to act on files you choose to open, save
or manage, and is not used to read your files in the
background without your action.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES is used on Android 13 and
above to let you select images from your device to scan,
convert to PDF, or insert into a document.
The application does not directly request the device
CAMERA permission. Instead, when you use the
scan feature, it launches your device's existing camera app
(via an image-capture intent) to take a photo, which is then
returned to the application for processing. Camera hardware
is declared as an optional feature, so the app remains
usable on devices without a camera.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS is used to deliver
notifications to your device via Firebase Cloud Messaging,
such as feature updates or reminders. You can disable
notifications at any time in your device settings.
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID allows
the application to access the Android Advertising ID, used
for ad personalization, measurement and fraud prevention as
described in the Advertising section below.
The application may use third-party advertising services, including Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for collecting consent, to display advertisements.
Advertising services may process information such as device information, IP address, the advertising identifier, application interactions, diagnostic information and other information permitted by the relevant SDK and your device settings.
This information may be used for purposes including advertising, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, security and improving advertising services.
Depending on your location, applicable consent requirements and your choices, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.
We may use the Meta/Facebook SDK and related Meta services for marketing, advertising measurement, campaign performance analysis, and application promotion.
Depending on the SDK features implemented and your device or privacy settings, Meta may process information such as device information, application events, identifiers, IP address and information about interactions with the application.
This information may be used for purposes such as measuring marketing campaigns, understanding advertising performance, attribution, analytics, security, and improving advertising or promotional services.
The information processed by Meta is subject to Meta's applicable privacy practices and policies.
We may use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the application and to improve its functionality and performance.
Analytics may include information such as:
Firebase Analytics information may be used to understand usage trends, improve features, measure application performance and support product development.
We may use Firebase Crashlytics to identify, investigate and fix application crashes and technical problems.
Crash reports may contain technical information about your device, application version, operating system, crash details and other diagnostic information necessary to understand application failures.
We may use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to
deliver notifications to your device, subject to the
POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission described in Section
4.
This may involve the use of device or application identifiers necessary to deliver notifications.
You can generally manage notification permissions through your Android device settings.
We may use Firebase Realtime Database to store certain application data, such as app configuration, feature flags, or your in-app preferences. This does not include the content of your personal PDF or document files.
If you contact us for support or send feedback, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, error details, or other support information.
This information is used to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems and improve the application.
We may use third-party service providers, including Google (Firebase, AdMob) and Meta, to provide services necessary for the operation, analytics, advertising, marketing, payment processing, diagnostics and improvement of the application.
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable contractual or legal requirements.
We do not sell the contents of your personal documents.
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through the application and associated services.
However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing services, analytics, security, troubleshooting, regulatory compliance and resolving disputes.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the third-party service involved.
Depending on your location, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing.
You may also be able to control advertising identifiers, application permissions (storage, camera app access, notifications), and certain privacy settings through your Android device.
Where required by applicable law, we provide appropriate consent mechanisms for processing that requires user consent.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar privacy protections, applicable laws may provide you with additional rights concerning your personal information.
Where consent is required for advertising or other processing, appropriate consent choices may be presented to you.
If you are a California resident, applicable California privacy laws may provide additional rights concerning personal information.
These rights may include rights relating to access, deletion, correction and certain disclosures or uses of personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
The application is not intended to knowingly collect personal information directly from children where prohibited by applicable law.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the application in a manner that violates applicable law, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
The application may integrate third-party services, including services provided by Google, Firebase, Meta/Facebook and other technology providers.
Third-party services operate under their respective privacy policies and terms. Their processing of information may be governed by their own policies and applicable laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the application, services, legal requirements or privacy practices.
The updated policy will be published with a revised Last Updated date.
